  2. Public or charity schools: There is no Publick or Charity School in my Parish endowed; but there have been, ever since Christmas last past, twenty Children taught to write & read at the expence of a Person unknown. Care is taken to instruct them in the Church Catechism, & they are brought to Church as the Canon requires.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: There is a house in my Parish commonly call'd the Maudlin, 6 Poor Persons live in it, who are placed there by the overseers of the Poor. There is paid to this house out of the Crown Rents the sum of £2 12s 0d yearly, which is distributed amongst ye Poor of the house: There are also Lands belonging to it value eleven pounds per annum, which is receiv'd by ye Overseers & applied to the use of the Poor in general. Here is a Tradition that this Benefaction was intended for Lepers: But who was the Founder, or for what uses it was really designed I can get no certain account.
There is one field value 16 shillings per annum given for the Repair of the Church & applied to that use.

  4. Residence upon cure: I reside personally upon my Cure; I have no Parsonage House.

  5. Curate: I have no Curate.

  6. Divine service at other churches: I perform Divine Service at no Church besides my own.

  7. Frequency of divine service: I read Prayers constantly ever Holy-day; in Lent every Wednesday & Friday, & in the Passion week every Day: I perform Divine Service twice every Lord's Day, with a Sermon in the Morning & Afternoon; or an exposition on the Church Catechism in imitation of Dr Hole.

  8. Frequency of communion: The Holy Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is administred in my Church seven times in the year.

  9. Number of communicants: There are in my Parish about 50 Communicants: There were about that number who Communicated at Easter last past.

  10. Catechising of children: I catechize the Children in my Church <sometimes> on Holy-days, on Wednesdays & Fridays in Lent, & sometimes on Sundays; and should do it constantly, but my Parishioners do not send their Children & servants as they ought & I have desired.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: I have no Chapel within my Parish. There are some Ruins adjoining to the Maudlin mention'd in my answer to your Lordships 3 Question, which are reported to be the Ruins of a Chapel.
